I’m thrilled to share this next interview with you, from blogger Amy over at Sweet Pixie Dreams. Take a look and tell me what you think, down below in comments!

Can you tell me more about what inspired you to start blogging?

It has been something that I have thought about doing for a while now and I finally had the courage to get up and do it. It can be very daunting to let people read your articles, but I wanted to try and help people buy things that were good and not waste their money.

I am a pure beauty junkie at heart, and I have draws full of beauty products. I didn’t want to let all that testing go to waste. I love to write so I thought that this would be the perfect place to share both things.

How do you promote your blog?

I am on 4 social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook but I particularly enjoy using Pinterest and Facebook the most.

I try to interact with other bloggers as well because it’s a good way to connect with people in your niche and I also enjoy reading peoples content. If you have a little spare cash then Facebook and Pinterest Ads are a good way to promote your blog.

What are your favorite blogging tools/resources you use/recommend?

I like to use tailwind to schedule my Pinterest posts as it can save you a lot of time, although I do still pin manually as well. Some might say I have developed an obsession, but I just think I’m being creative 😊 I also like to use ‘Viral Content Bee’ to share my posts and ‘Medium’.

Both are great sites to get your content out there. There are lots of WordPress plugins as well that can be very helpful such as Yoast for SEO, Monster Insights to track your site stats, sumo me for social shares and Mailchimp for a mailing service.

Can you share some of your favorite beauty/hair/skin products?

This is a tough one, I have so many products that I enjoy using but if I had to narrow it down, I would choose-

Any Drunk Elephant Product. They have a great skincare range in my opinion

-Paula’s choice. If you’re looking for something a little more affordable, then this is a great skincare line that caters for all skin types

-I love using dry shampoo in-between washes- My favorites are ‘I’m not your mother’ and ‘Klorane’

– I could not live without my GHD hair straightener. Great for straightening and curling. I love a good multitasker!

-I love all Hourglass products. A little on the pricy side but so worth the splurge! 😊 I have yet to find one of their products that I don’t like. I also like Too Faced eyeshadow palettes and Maybelline concealers.

What tips can you provide to someone new to wearing makeup?

Practice makes perfect. Start off with a basic look and then advance from there. Have a play around with makeup on your days off, that way you don’t feel pressure to get it right if you’re not going anywhere.

Tell me more about your upcoming course (what you can)?

I’m developing a course for anyone new to makeup or for someone who is wanting to learn how to apply it correctly and build their confidence. I go through a little bit of theory as well as video demonstrations. There are also downloadable cheat sheets for you to have on hand plus product recommendations for your skin type.

What advice would you give new bloggers?

Being new to blogging myself, I would say to just keep at it. There can be days where you feel disheartened and days where you have more drive than ever. Be consistent with posting and try and engage with your readers as much as possible. Like the famous saying goes ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’. Just keep at it!
